Product, learning, privacy, devices, and limits.
What is Play Learn Rise?
Play Learn Rise is an adaptive learning game world for grades 1 to 8. Pip the Risebird teaches before children try a different item, records help as help, and counts only unaided answers as evidence. No ads or child chat.
What grades does Play Learn Rise support?
Play Learn Rise has grade-aware paths for grades 1 to 8. Content depth is still growing during the family beta, so availability varies by subject and skill.
What subjects are available?
Play Learn Rise currently includes math, reading, spelling, science and reasoning activities, plus creative and building worlds that apply academic skills. Math coverage is broader than reviewed reading coverage today.
Is Play Learn Rise free?
The available family-beta experience is currently included at no price. Subscriptions are planned, but prices, trials, limits, and launch dates have not been announced.
Is there a Play Learn Rise app?
Play Learn Rise runs on the web today. App-store versions are planned and are not currently for sale.
Which devices and browsers work?
Play Learn Rise is designed for current phone, tablet, Chromebook, and desktop browsers. Exact camera, voice, and offline behavior can depend on the browser and device.
Does Play Learn Rise work offline?
Parts of Play Learn Rise can continue from cached content after a successful first load. Account sync, narration requests, and content not already cached need a connection.
How does the learning loop work?
Play Learn Rise uses a teach, guide, prove, and return loop. Pip teaches a move, support is labeled, a fresh unaided item can add independent power, and the skill can return later.
Who is Pip the Risebird?
Pip the Risebird is the in-product guide for Play Learn Rise. Pip explains strategies, reads supported lines aloud when voice is enabled, and helps a learner recover after a miss.
What is Worldlight?
Worldlight is a Play Learn Rise mission path where academic work powers a changing adventure. The learning target stays grade-aware even when the story wrapper changes.
What is a Keystone Quest?
A Keystone Quest is a skill mission on the grades 1 to 8 campaign map. Availability depends on whether appropriate reviewed or generated content is ready for that mission.
Are gems or practice points the same as mastery?
No. In Play Learn Rise, gems and practice points are game rewards, not mastery. Independent power records a fresh answer completed without help, and it is still not a certified-mastery claim.
What is the Learning Blueprint?
The Learning Blueprint is the adult-facing view of priorities, support use, independent work, and review timing. It is meant to explain the next teaching move, not produce a diagnosis.
Can two children share one device?
Yes. Play Learn Rise can keep up to six nickname-only device learners with separate progress, spelling lists, companions, rewards, and voice choices in that browser.
Does a child need a real name or email?
No. Play Learn Rise learner profiles use nicknames, and children do not need their own email login. An adult manages any family account.
Are there ads, child chat, or in-child purchases?
No. Play Learn Rise has no ads, child-to-child chat, or purchases inside the child experience.
Can learners play a Friendly Arena together?
Yes, as an optional signed-in side activity. A family can privately invite two to four learners in the same grade band to answer allowlisted math and reasoning challenges using preset aliases. There is no public matching or room search, chat, free text, direct messaging, friend list, public player profile, or location sharing. Join attempts are limited to 12 per learner in 10 minutes and 20 per invite code in 15 minutes, with an additional network limit. An unstarted waiting room closes after 15 minutes, each started match or rematch closes after 20 minutes, and room records are removed by scheduled cleanup after a 24-hour retention window. A server-verified two-second grown-up hold is required before a host can start. Game scores never become academic evidence or mastery.
Where does guest progress stay?
Guest progress stays in that browser on that device. Clearing browser storage or changing devices can remove or leave that guest progress behind.
What does a family account add?
An adult-managed Play Learn Rise family account can keep server-backed learner progress and adult controls. Guest play remains available without an account.
Can a teacher or tutor use Play Learn Rise?
A parent or guardian can invite an educator or specialist to contribute to one learner's Blueprint through a separate adult account. That role does not automatically expose siblings or family-level controls.
Is Play Learn Rise ready for a district rollout?
No. Play Learn Rise is a family beta, not a school SIS, roster, SSO product, district contract, or completed procurement package.
Does Play Learn Rise follow academic standards?
Play Learn Rise tags many missions to grade-level standards and tests those mappings in the build. A tag is not a certification, endorsement, or claim that one answer proves mastery.
How is progress reported to adults?
Play Learn Rise separates lessons, helped practice, fresh independent work, and later review. Reports describe the evidence recorded so far and should not be read as grades or diagnoses.
Can a family add a spelling list or schoolwork?
Yes. An adult can type or paste a weekly spelling list, and Schoolwork Quest can use supported typed or pasted examples. Photo reading depends on device support shown in the product; source schoolwork is intended to stay on the device.
How do I export or delete family data?
Signed-in adults can use account controls to request an export or delete the family account. Guest data can be removed through the device learner controls or browser storage.
What accessibility support exists today?
Play Learn Rise supports keyboard navigation, touch, visible focus, reduced-motion preferences, readable type, and read-aloud choices across key paths. Accessibility review and improvement are ongoing during the family beta.
How is Play Learn Rise different from a worksheet app?
Play Learn Rise connects a grade-aware learning target to teaching, support, a fresh independent try, and game-world consequences. The game wrapper does not turn helped work into independent proof.
