Play Learn Rise realm map with connected adventure paths

October 15, 2026

Current release

Gigi's Graph Grove is now playable across all eight grades

Gigi now gives grade-scaled guided graph rounds for reading labels and scales, comparing bars, combining values, and finding greatest values. The activity stays on the device and writes no answer, score, reward, or independent learning proof.

Gigi now teaches skip-counting as a visible number pattern

Gigi's Skip-Step Trail uses equal hops and a missing landing instead of a chant alone. Younger learners practice 2s, 5s, and 10s; Grade 3 connects the pattern to equal groups; older learners get wider, signed, or decimal patterns. The trail is guided practice, stores no answer, and cannot become independent learning proof.

A student idea is now part of Pet Academy

Gigi the graph giraffe teaches how to read a graph's title, labels, scale, and data, then uses a reviewed graph lesson when the learner's grade has one. The new Cowculator explores four operations inside Pet Academy, saves no expression or answer, and cannot count as independent learning proof. Reading remains closed until a person approves it.

Every generated choice now passes the same item-quality gate

The release gate now rejects negative distractors without negative meaning, hints that contain the answer, short or equivalent choice lists, and empty rationales. Stretch work has an explicit additional demand, Realm math can only use the checked grade bank, and worked teaching cards identify themselves as Pip's example. Reading remains closed until a person approves it.

The family learning story is clearer and optional by email

The adult report now carries the scheduled memory-check date from the same learning receipt used by the learner path. A Sunday email is off until the adult turns it on, and the same control pauses it. The sender checks the verified adult account, opt-in, pause state, and Sunday cadence before sending. Early-grade chapter promises now use child-facing model language instead of engineering copy.

Realms now uses the same checked math and reading gates

Pip's recorded lesson downloads only when a learner asks to hear it and uses an immutable cache name. Fraction teaching models rebuild from both operands before the lesson appears. Dormant draft passages were removed from the learner Realms bundle, and Realm math now draws from the same checked grade bank as the daily lesson. Unreviewed reading remains closed.

Teaching and connected worlds

Every world now carries a complete learning story

Moonlit Citadel, Maker Forge, Companion Wilds, Prism Studio, Cipher Archive, Spark Observatory, and Surprise Me now each frame the same honest learning journey in their own way: learn the power, prove it independently, then return later to remember it. The world landmark, current skill, and visible change stay connected across home, mission, passport, battle, and the existing side room. Helped practice can repair the story but cannot place a world piece or become independent evidence.

Each world now carries its learning story into the next room

The selected world, current landmark, math skill, and exact earned world piece now follow the learner into that world's existing side room and into the Worldlight Room's seven-world window. Work completed without help places the next bridge span, gear, shelter beam, mural panel, decoded mark, circuit node, or path stone. Helped practice still places nothing and never becomes independent learning evidence.

Fraction lessons now show the operation they teach

A fraction-addition lesson now draws both fractions on same-size wholes and shows how to rename both before adding. Prompt fractions begin reduced, each denominator stays at or below 12, the common denominator stays at or below 24, and answers above one use a mixed number. The release gate checks these rules and independently recomputes the generated answers before packaging.

Pip names more early calculation slips and avoids commuted repeats

Pip now recognizes common one-too-few and one-too-many slips in early addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division without printing the answer. Commuted addition and multiplication facts share one recent-item identity, so 7 × 9 and 9 × 7 do not count as two fresh questions. Helped work remains practice.

World performance and mobile

World moves now look and sound different in every existing world

Independent battle actions now trigger a distinct local effect and a more energetic version of the chosen world's original score. Helped work raises a quieter repair response without damaging the foe, advancing the trail, spending Realm Magic, or becoming independent evidence. Android and synchronized iOS pilot sources now share Build 234.

Every existing world now has its own animated battle arena

Moonlit Citadel has its fortress and moon, Maker Forge has moving gears, Companion Wilds has a living forest, Prism Studio has shifting galleries, Cipher Archive has clue shelves, Spark Observatory has circuits and stars, and Surprise Me has its crossroads. These lightweight scenes use no new image downloads, and reduced-motion stops their animation. The learning questions and help rules are unchanged.

Battles now belong to the world the learner chose

Moonlit Citadel, Maker Forge, Companion Wilds, Prism Studio, Cipher Archive, Spark Observatory, and Surprise Me now give the existing strategy battle their own threat, signals, counters, turn story, landmark, and result. The local score also changes for teaching, proof, repair, and memory. Work completed without help gets the stronger world-change cue; helped practice gets a quieter repair cue and remains practice.

Independent learning now leaves a mark in the chosen world

Each of the seven existing worlds now grows a five-piece landmark from learning evidence the app already saves. Work completed without help places the next bridge span, gear, shelter beam, mural panel, decoded mark, circuit node, or path stone and survives a reload. Helped practice can show a repair cue, but it places no piece and never becomes independent evidence.

World battles feel different, and Math Art gives children the colors

The seven existing worlds now frame strategy battles with their own landmark, objective, visual treatment, and deeper original score. Math Art unlocks a real color after supported practice, then the child chooses both the color and where it belongs in the picture. Helped work remains practice and does not become independent learning evidence.

The music is clearer and learning makes the world move

Each existing learner world now has a deliberate original musical motif with a stronger, bounded mix. Music still softens while Pip speaks and remains optional. Teaching reveals the model, supported work repairs, work completed without help builds the world, and later remembering earns its own motion. The landing page now explains that loop directly and the full learner door keeps a readable text floor.

Delivery, music, and living worlds

Signed-in learner progress opens with one startup request

The six signed-in progress reads now travel in one versioned startup request. Each section can recover independently, and the app keeps the older six-request path as a rolling-deployment fallback without changing learner evidence or the guest experience.

Play starts lighter and more of the world moves

The learner app now avoids a duplicate startup check, lets signed-in progress views load in parallel, and keeps secondary offline modes from auto-downloading on Data Saver or 2G connections. Existing room, building, science, skills, maker, and adventure screens now arrive with more movement, while reduced-motion and Calm motion still remove travel and ambient animation.

Each world now has its own living score and motion

After the learner’s first tap, original background music continues across the child app, changes with the chosen world and activity, softens while Pip speaks, pauses when the app is hidden, and keeps a saved mute choice. Teaching, supported practice, independent success, and repair now have distinct non-blocking world reactions, with calm-motion and reduced-motion alternatives.

Learning now wakes the world you chose

After the first math lesson, a learner can choose one of the seven existing worlds. An answer solved without help opens that world’s first landmark and wakes its existing side room. Helped practice stays visible and useful, but it does not earn Independent Power or open the landmark. The math path remains separate and unchanged.

One tap to a grade, then the lesson

A new learner now chooses a grade and goes directly to Pip’s first math lesson. No interest or world is assigned beforehand. On the first return home after learning, the learner can choose one of the seven existing worlds in one tap, while the same five-chapter math path and help rules stay in place.

October 5, 2026

Fraction integrity and first-lesson delivery

Fraction prompts now begin in lowest terms

Grade 5 fraction-operation prompts now keep every shown fraction in lowest terms, stay within the defined 2-to-12 denominator band, and avoid repeating an unordered operand pair in a 40-round sweep. The answer oracle remains the final correctness check.

Pip names the mistake without giving away the retry

After a miss, Pip now names the specific error pattern in child-readable language without revealing the answer. The first supported retry uses fresh numbers; only a later guided same-item step hides the answer while repairing the exact move. Helped work remains practice.

The Starting Map stays before the first lesson

A new learner can take or skip the Starting Map before lesson one, and a mission is never interrupted by that choice. The daily card and Today's path disclosure now say, in child-readable words, why the next math skill was selected.

The first lesson keeps its world with less transfer

Right-sized scene, companion, and Pip artwork now serves the first lesson, while the replay opening and its showcase load only when requested. Measured release gates keep the learner home below 350 KB and the first-question mission path below 400 KB without weakening offline mode coverage.

October 4, 2026

Reading review and math depth

Reading choices now show the review hold

Reading remains unavailable to learners while its passages and questions complete human review. Onboarding, Story Web, and Pet Academy keep those choices visible but disabled, use the same reviewed-content readiness gate, and send Smart mix to math until approved reading is ready.

Daily math draws from deeper prompt banks

All 64 grade-and-skill math pairs now supply at least 30 distinct prompts across a 40-round sweep. Grade 5 fraction addition uses unlike denominators, and the complete 20,480-item sweep stays checked by the independent answer oracle.

Early-grade teaching uses the numbers on the card

Grade 1 add-within-20 count-on cards and Grade 2 add-within-100 tens-and-ones cards now use the exact operands in the problem shown to the learner. The initial worked example completes its final step; guided same-item repair keeps the answer hidden until the learner responds.

Each held reading map question gets its own passage

The prepared, still-unavailable reading Starting Map now uses a different passage for all 12 questions in static and adaptive runs, with distinct canonical passages across all 32 grade-and-strand probes. Grade 1 and Grade 2 copy stays within the focused readability ceiling.

The methodology evidence table is easier to read

The methodology page now gives its evidence table explicit dark text and light backgrounds. Focused checks measure every covered pairing at 7.3:1 or higher; this targeted repair is not a claim of site-wide WCAG conformance.

Helped practice stays out of independent totals

A correct answer after Pip helps remains helped practice. It can record a successful supported try, but it does not increase the durable independent total, Independent power, or the world path. Fresh unaided proof still counts once and survives a reload.

The learning ladder now follows each answer

A first correct answer without help now advances from understanding to a fresh transfer challenge in Lantern Village. The supported-repair chapter appears only after a miss; helped retries remain practice and never increase Independent power.

Learning now builds a private Worldlight Room

Every grade can grow the same five-level private learner room with independent evidence and genuine later memory. Knowledge shelves, achievements, trophies, companion space, and permanent decor make learning visible; helped practice remains labeled as help and cannot grow the room.

The front door now offers three clear paths

The shorter landing page leads with one Play now action, then Adventure, grown-up-guided Photo to Train, and My Worldlight Room. Family, educator, district, and account routes remain available in one collapsed grown-up section instead of filling the first visit.

October 3, 2026

Faster entry to learning

A clearer front door gets learners to play faster

The landing page now leads with the world, one Play now action, and Photo to Practice. Grown-up evidence, safety, plans, and forms stay available behind one deliberate route instead of filling the first visit. The child path opens real teaching before the optional Starting Map.

October 2, 2026

Learning depth and Schoolwork Quest

Photo the work, confirm it, then train on fresh problems

Schoolwork Quest is now featured from the public page and learner home. A grown-up can choose a photo or paste practice, inspect the locally read text and skill, and confirm it before Pip teaches. The source example stays supported practice; only a fresh answer without help can count as independent evidence.

Every grade uses the same five-stage evidence contract

All 64 grade-level math missions now use explicit receipts for understand, supported repair, fresh proof, transfer, and a dated later return. Reading uses the same architecture only after content passes its human-review gates; candidate packs remain hidden meanwhile.

A public curriculum scope page shows what is actually ready

The new scope map lists every grade, skill, standards mapping, item count, and human-review state. It currently reports 64 of 64 math campaign missions ready and 0 of 64 reading campaign missions approved, without presenting a standards code as an endorsement or mastery claim.

October 1, 2026

Learning proof and reliability

Learning proof now moves the adventure and survives a reload

Independent, helped, and missed work is saved before the next problem appears. Independent proof advances the five-chapter journey and schedules a separate later memory check, while helped work remains practice. This release also makes activity styles fail and retry honestly and keeps dynamic questions and family-entered text on the device reader.

September 30, 2026

Connected learning across grades

Grades 1 to 8 now share one connected learning journey

Every grade-level math skill now follows the same honest five-part arc: understand the idea, repair the exact step with help, prove it on a fresh problem, use it in a different setting, and return later. Approved reading missions can use the same arc without bypassing human review. The learner world and the family 30-second story now stay aligned in every grade.

Grade 3 multiplication becomes one connected Gearwood journey

Five Gearwood chapters now connect equal groups, supported practice, a fresh independent check, transfer to a new setting, and a later memory return. The existing family report explains practice, independent evidence, help, delayed evidence, what comes next, and one useful thing to try together.

Families can see what was proved alone

The Progress Center now separates Independent power, helped practice, and misses from the last seven days, then offers one focused skill to revisit without storing question text, answers, worksheet content, email addresses, or real names.

Today’s Adventure follows the learner’s real next skill

The daily card and launched mission now share one reviewed grade-and-subject plan. Starting Map gaps can choose the lesson and explain why, reading learners receive approved reading when it is ready, and Puzzle Lab remains behind its own door.

The Starting Map now checks grade-specific work

The private map uses grade-aligned operations, number sense, fractions or proportional reasoning, geometry, and reading passages. Its first lesson opens at the useful strand and explains why Pip chose it.

Teaching cards use the problem’s own numbers

Pip’s teaching steps and visual models now use the quantities in the actual challenge. Independent answers, helped practice, and smaller steps remain separate evidence.

September 29, 2026

Independent power and reviewed reading

Independent power gets its own moment

A correct answer without help now pauses on the solved challenge while Independent power and the changing world take the headline. New learners may first take or skip a private, reward-free 12-question Starting Map, and that choice is remembered.

Paired-text lessons now keep every step on the same reading move

Shared-idea lessons now ask learners to name the idea in each text and choose what both support without adding a single-passage instruction. Single-passage main-idea lessons keep their whole-passage check.

Every reading mission enters the human review lane

All 64 reading missions now have complete candidate packs for authorized adult review. A new grade-by-grade sprint helps reviewers work item by item while every draft remains unavailable to learners until four independent quality gates approve it.

September 28, 2026

Starting maps and release safeguards

Adaptive starting maps and stronger release safeguards

The private Starting Map now adjusts after every answer, Fact Sprint fractions are simplified and independently checked, and family billing adds duplicate-subscription, rate-limit, exact-host, and minimal-data safeguards while remaining disabled by default.

Private starting maps, Fact Sprint, and the Trust Center

Families can use a private, reward-free starting map and a practice-only Fact Sprint. A new Trust Center explains data, retention, vendors, cookies, deletion, and the current no-seal status in one place.

Reading lessons now match the reasoning task

Play Learn Rise now teaches paired-text shared ideas and supported conclusions with a different example of the same task before the independent try. Help remains separate from Independent power.

First-visit offline preparation is complete

The app now prepares the real play route, first-mission code, and first-mission styles during the first successful online visit and rejects incomplete redirected cache entries.

Earlier updates

The evidence model and shared-device support.

Deeper learning adventures and stronger content checks

Play Learn Rise expanded companion and battle progression, added math variety and distractor-quality checks across every grade, and prepared a realm-first reading review queue without exposing unreviewed items.

Original Story Web and Schoolwork Quest

Story Web now uses original Play Learn Rise stories. Schoolwork Quest can turn typed or pasted practice material into a local, help-aware activity while keeping source content on the device.

September 21: Independent power is separate from helped practice

The learner view now separates practice rewards from independent power. A supported retry is labeled as help and does not count as independent evidence.

September 20: Separate learners on a shared device

Families can create up to six nickname-only device learners with separate progress, spelling lists, companions, rewards, and voice preferences.
