Family beta terms
Terms of Use
Updated October 15, 2026
These Terms describe the product as it works during family beta. They are not a substitute for owner and qualified legal review.
1. Agreement and who may use Play Learn Rise
These Terms are for adults. A parent, guardian, educator, tutor, or specialist must be at least 18 years old to create or use an adult account. Children do not accept these Terms.
Children play only under an adult’s responsibility. This also applies to guest play in a household browser. The adult decides whether the service and its content are suitable for a learner.
2. Family beta
Play Learn Rise is a family beta. Features, activities, and availability may change while the product is tested and improved. It is not a paid product today.
A Learning Blueprint code or access code is not a subscription. Subscriptions are planned and are not currently for sale.
3. Adult accounts and learner profiles
An adult account uses an adult email address and a password of at least 10 characters. Children use nickname-only learner profiles. They do not have a child login and are not asked for an email address.
The parent or guardian owns and controls each learner profile. A parent may invite a teacher, tutor, or specialist through that adult’s separate account. An invited contributor can work only within the permissions given for one learner’s Learning Blueprint. That adult cannot see siblings, family billing, family exports, account deletion controls, or private artwork.
4. Guest play
Guest play does not require an account. Guest learning progress stays in that browser on that device. It is not a backup and may be lost if browser data is cleared, the browser is removed, or the device is lost.
An adult may be offered a way to import guest progress into a family profile. Until that import succeeds, the local copy remains the only copy.
5. Permission to use the beta
We give adults a limited, revocable permission to use the family beta for personal, educational, and non-commercial purposes. An invited educator may use it only within the authorized family-beta or classroom-pilot scope.
Do not scrape the service, reverse engineer it to copy or steal curriculum, resell access, resell codes, or present the product as your own.
6. Acceptable use
Use Play Learn Rise lawfully and in an age-appropriate way. Do not harass anyone, upload malware, probe or disrupt the service, bypass adult controls, impersonate another person, or use an invitation without permission.
There is no child-to-child chat. Do not try to create one through feedback, project names, or other fields. Do not upload another person's student records, legal name, diagnosis, contact information, or other private school or health information.
7. Friendly Arena
Friendly Arena is an optional private side activity, not the primary learning path. An adult-managed family account may open an invite-only room for two to four signed-in learners in the same grade band. The family that opens the room controls when it starts and should share the short-lived code only with another family it intends to invite. Do not publish, sell, guess, scrape, or reuse arena codes.
Learners use preset aliases and answer allowlisted math and reasoning challenges. They cannot enter free text. Friendly Arena does not provide public matching or room discovery, chat, direct messages, friend lists, public player profiles, or location sharing. An unstarted waiting room closes after 15 minutes, and each started match or rematch closes after 20 minutes.
Arena points and results are game state only. They do not become academic evidence, change mastery estimates, or prove learning. Live room access ends at expiry or cancellation. The limited room records are retained for 24 hours and then removed during the next scheduled cleanup. The Privacy Notice explains those room, membership, turn, score, receipt, and time records.
8. Learning content and evidence
Play Learn Rise separates a lesson, practice with help, an independent try, and a later memory return. Help is recorded as support, not as independent proof.
Activities and reports provide instructional evidence. They are not official school grades, course credits, an IEP, a diagnosis, medical advice, or a certified mastery determination. If the word "mastery" appears in the child experience, it is an estimate for choosing the next teaching move, not a certification.
9. AI-generated guide voices
Guide Cast uses disclosed AI-generated voices: Pip with Marin, Kian with Cedar, Mira with Coral, and Astra with Sage. Play Learn Rise does not use the microphone and does not record the child.
Saved voices and checked-in guide catalog or preview scripts are normally served by Play Learn Rise. Dynamic questions and family-entered text use the device reader and are not sent through Play Learn Rise to the narration provider. A grown-up may separately enable optional online browser voices. That setting is off by default. When enabled, the browser voice provider may receive the words being read.
10. Artwork and Maker projects
Guest artwork and projects stay on the device unless the adult or learner deliberately downloads a file. Signed-in families may deliberately save private work to the account. The portfolio is bounded and has no public gallery, comments, likes, or sharing feed.
Downloaded files remain on the adult’s device. The adult is responsible for managing or deleting those copies.
11. Blueprint and access codes
A Learning Blueprint code copies a curriculum plan. It does not copy a child’s identity, email, nickname, grade, or learning history. A code never replaces the adult account password.
An access code may later provide beta, school, or scholarship access. It does not create an adult account, confirm identity, or replace adult sign-in.
12. Future subscriptions
Subscriptions are not for sale now. If paid access is offered later, the adult will see the price, renewal terms, plan limits, and updated terms before any charge.
This beta does not store full payment-card numbers. Any future payment process will need a separately disclosed adult checkout and reviewed privacy terms.
13. Privacy
The Privacy Notice is part of these Terms. It explains guest data, adult accounts, nickname-only profiles, Friendly Arena, invited contributors, narration, first-party product events, artwork, exports, and deletion.
14. Service limits and responsibility
We are building and testing this beta. We try to keep it available and accurate, but we cannot promise that every activity, report, voice, or saved state will always work without interruption or error.
Use adult judgment. Keep independent copies of anything important. To the extent permitted by law, Play Learn Rise is not responsible for indirect losses caused by relying on beta availability, an instructional estimate, or device-local guest data. Rights that cannot lawfully be limited remain unchanged.
15. Ending use and deleting data
An adult may stop using the beta at any time. A signed-in parent can download family data, delete one learner profile, or permanently delete the family account. Permanent account deletion requires the adult password and typing DELETE.
Guest data is local. It can be removed by resetting guest progress or clearing browser storage. Deleting an account cannot remove files that an adult already downloaded to a device.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the beta changes. The updated date will appear at the top. For a material account or paid-service change, we will provide notice on the site or send it to the adult account email before the change takes effect when appropriate.
